Biden to sign legislation aiding veterans; legal challenges continue for Trump The Washington Post

Meanwhile, former president Donald Trump said he declined to answer questions, citing his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself, during a deposition at the state attorney general’s office in New York. On our radar: Biden is on vacation, Congress is still in recess
President Biden is off on vacation in Kiawah Island, S.C., a previous vacation spot for his family but one he has not visited since becoming president. Congress is also still on recess. Here’s what we’ll be keeping an eye out for Thursday:
- We don’t know when Biden will be back in Washington. He’s taking a break after a series of positive coronavirus tests — and a series of legislative achievements in Congress. (He emerged from isolation this past weekend after testing negative.) The first lady is expected to join him in South Carolina.
- Election officials from Arizona and Vermont will testify on election misinformation before the House Oversight Committee. The committee has been working on investigating election disinformation for a few months now.
- Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Ashish Jha, the White House covid-19 response coordinator, will talk about the pandemic. The conversation, which will be live-streamed on the senator’s social media accounts, will focus on ongoing efforts to fight the virus and the future of pandemic response.
