The Biden administration is pushing for Americans to get their updated COVID-19 booster shot ahead of the holidays.The push is in preparation of any possible surge in cases and hospitalizations in the winter months.White House officials say more than 20 million Americans have already received their updated COVID-19 vaccine that targets newer variants.The administration will work to reach high-risk Americans through ads and pop-up vaccination events.The White House is also asking business and education leaders for help. The president is calling on every school district, college and university in the country to host at least one vaccination clinic by Thanksgiving.Pharmacies are also expected to improve access to treatment and scheduling appointments.The White House had a message for Granite Staters when News 9 spoke with the administration Tuesday. “We know so many Americans are tired of COVID — COVID isn’t tired of us,” said Kevin Munoz, White House press secretary. “The really great news though is we have the tools to fight this virus and not let it overrun our lives like it did for so many years.”The updated, bivalent booster is one shot, and available for people 5 and up.You can get the shot as long as it’s been two months since your last COVID-19 vaccine dose.
