Bleachers, one of the main stage acts scheduled to perform at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival on its closing night, Sunday, May 29, was forced to cancel its set because of a positive coronavirus test within the band.

Hey Bottlerock people — it’s a huge bummer to announce that we have to pull out of tomorrow’s show due to a positive COVID test in our band,” Bleachers said in a statement posted to social media Saturday, May 28. “This sucks and is one of the risks of touring during these times, but the tour will go on and we’ll pick back up in London! Stay safe!”

The band fronted by the Grammy-winning guitarist Jack Antonoff, who has produced music for Taylor Swift and Lorde, was set to play the JaM Cellars Stage at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, right before closing headliner Pink.

Festival organizers did not yet announce who would take Bleachers’ slot.

Antonoff, a former member of the band fun., started Bleachers as a one-man project in 2013 but has since expanded its live lineup with other musicians. The 37-year-old musician was named producer of the year, non-classical, at this year’s Grammy Awards for his work with Swift, Lorde, Lana Del Rey and others. He attended the ceremony with actress Margaret Qualley.

He also produced the soundtrack for “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” which is set for release on July 1. The 1970s-themed album features a collaboration between Diana Ross and Tame Impala, as well as appearances from Brockhampton, Caroline Polachek, Phoebe Bridgers, Kali Uchis, Tierra Whack, H.E.R., Brittany Howard, Thundercat, RZA, St. Vincent and others.

Bleachers is on tour in support of its most recent album, “Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night,” which includes the single “How Dare You Want Me.” Its next show is scheduled to take place June 7 at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.

When the band performed the track on “Saturday Night Live” in February, Antonoff was joined by his dad, Rick, on guitar, singer-songwriter Blu DeTiger on bass and indie musician Claud on keyboards. The band was asked to perform on the show at the last minute after scheduled musical guest Roddy Ricch had to pull out because of a coronavirus exposure.
