Live updates: Trump, largely silent on abortion, to hold rally in Pennsylvania The Washington Post

Welcome to Post Politics Now.
Today, former president Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Pennsylvania with celebrity doctor and GOP Senate hopeful Mehmet Oz. Among the things we’ll be watching: What, if anything, Trump has to say about abortion. Trump, who appointed three of the conservative Supreme Court justices who appear on the verge of overturning Roe v. Wade, has been largely silent on the subject.
President Biden is heading to Ohio, where he plans to pitch legislation known as the Bipartisan Innovation Act, which seeks to boost domestic manufacturing. Meanwhile, Senate Democrats are planning a vote next week on a bill that would write abortion protections into law. It seems certain to fail.

Noted: Elon Musk denies Trump blessed his acquisition of Twitter
Elon Musk on Friday pushed back on the notion that former president Donald Trump had blessed his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter.
“This is false,” Musk said in a tweet. “I’ve had no communication, directly or indirectly, with Trump, who has publicly stated that he will be exclusively on Truth Social.” (Truth Social is Trump’s own social media platform, which has been riddled with glitches.)
Musk is taking issue with comments from Devin Nunes, the former Republican congressman from California who now serves as chief executive of Trump Media & Technology Group.
“President Trump, basically before Elon Musk bought [Twitter], actually said to go and buy it because the goal of our company is really to build a community where people are in a family-friendly, safe environment,” Nunes said during an appearance this week on Fox Business Network.
Nunes added that Truth Social was “all for” Musk buying Twitter.
